About Us
In 1999 former Kanab City Mayor, Karen Alvey, suggested that a one-day women's event be organized. A group of volunteer women agreed that a day of workshops, education, and entertainment would be a great thing for this area. That year our Keynote speaker was Mary Ellen Edmunds. Since that time we have featured speakers such as Jennifer Wall Steiner, Nadine Wimmer, Bruce C. & Marie Hafen, Linda & Richard Eyre, Chieko Okazaki, Richard Paul Evans, Ardeth G. Kapp, Michael McLean, Anita Stansfield, Emily Nelson, Chad Hymas, Del Parson, Stephanie Nielson, Jill Stevens Shepherd, Six Sister's Stuff , Tim Ballard, Michelle Porcelli, Gail Miller and Lindsay and Lexi Kite.
From the beginning, it has been important to the board to make this event multi-community. Advertising takes place in Kane, Garfield, Iron and Washington Counties, as well as Northern Arizona: including Page, Fredonia, and Moccasin. Women of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds are invited to participate.
Now in our 22nd year, the Women's Forum in Kanab continues to grow in size and recognition.
